Kard Kulture
Support
Most problems fall into one of the three below. If none of them matches, write to us.
I paid for Pro and the app does not know
Open Settings → Restore purchases. That asks the App Store about the Apple ID signed in on the device and reinstates an active subscription. It is also the right thing to do after reinstalling the app or setting up a new device.
If it reports that nothing was found, check that the device is signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase. A subscription belongs to an Apple ID, not to a device.
A library moves between devices only with an account, and only where sync is switched on for your build. Your subscription restores on a new device through the App Store either way. Without an account, the Kards you made on the old device stay there — and Settings → Export is the way to carry them.
An import failed, or produced nothing
A few causes account for nearly all of them:
- A scanned PDF with no text. Kard Kulture reads pages that have no usable text layer, but a low-resolution photocopy can still defeat it. A sharper scan, or a PDF with selectable text, usually works.
- Too little material. There is a minimum amount of text an import needs before it can make anything worth studying. The paste screen shows the figure as you type.
- Too many pages for your plan. Each plan has a page ceiling. Importing a long document as two shorter sections is the usual way round it.
- No imports left. The Create screen shows what you have remaining before you start.
A failed import does not use up an allowance. If the app told you something went wrong, nothing was spent.
Something looks wrong on a Kard
Every Kard made from a document carries the page it came from. Open the Kard’s source to see the passage it was drawn from and check it. Kards are generated automatically and can be wrong; the citation is there so you can tell.
Writing to us
What helps us answer quickly:
- what you were trying to do, and what happened instead;
- the app version, from the bottom of Settings;
- your device and iOS version;
- roughly when it happened;
- for an import, the shape of the document — how many pages, whether it was a scan or a text PDF, roughly how large.
Please do not send us your study material. Lectures, notes, Kards, screenshots of Kards and exported libraries often contain copyrighted teaching material, and sometimes clinical or personal content. Describe the problem instead.
If we genuinely need to see a file to reproduce something, we will ask, and we will say how to send it. Until then, a description is enough — and it is almost always enough.
