Kard Kulture
Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These terms cover using Kard Kulture. They are written to be read, not to be skipped.
What Kard Kulture is
Kard Kulture is a study tool. It turns material you supply into flashcards, schedules them for review, and helps you understand them. It is a study aid and nothing more.
The material you bring
You are responsible for the documents, photographs and text you import. By importing something you confirm that you are allowed to use it that way — that it is yours, or that your licence, your institution’s terms or applicable law permit it.
We do not claim any ownership of your material or of the Kards made from it. They are yours.
Generated material can be wrong
Kards, explanations, practice questions and summaries are produced automatically from what you supply. They can be incomplete, imprecise or simply mistaken.
Check anything that matters against your source. Every Kard made from a document carries the page it came from, and the Tutor answers from the passages behind a Kard, precisely so that checking is possible. Treat all of it as a study aid to be verified, never as an authority.
Not professional advice
Kard Kulture is not a substitute for professional judgement or for qualified advice of any kind — medical, clinical, legal, financial or otherwise. Nothing it produces is advice, a diagnosis, a protocol or a recommendation, whatever the subject of your material. Do not rely on it to make a decision about a real person.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- import material you have no right to use;
- use the service to generate content unrelated to studying, or content that is unlawful or harmful;
- attempt to circumvent the allowances on your plan, or to automate the service in a way it is not designed for;
- interfere with the service or with other people’s use of it.
If any of these happen we may limit or end access, and we will say why where we can.
Subscriptions
Kard Kulture is free to use for writing your own Kards, importing an Anki deck, studying and reviewing — and includes a number of document imports and a number of Tutor uses at no cost. Kard Kulture Pro raises those allowances and unlocks additional features. What each plan includes is shown in the app before you subscribe and in the App Store listing.
Subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through your App Store account. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under the terms of that account; you can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings at any time. Apple’s own licensed-application terms apply to the purchase.
Plan allowances and what they include may change. If they do, the change will be shown in the app, and we will not reduce what an active subscription already includes partway through the period you have paid for.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. You can use Kard Kulture without one: your library then lives on the device that made it and nowhere else, and nothing asks you to sign in. An account exists so that your decks, your Kards and your review history can follow you to another device, and so your plan stays yours when you replace a phone.
Sync runs through our own service and is available only where that service has been switched on for your build. Where it has not, an account still identifies you and your plan, and your library stays on your device. The documents you import stay on the device that imported them either way. You can delete your account from inside the app; doing so removes the copy of your study data held by our service, and does not cancel an App Store subscription, which Apple manages.
Availability
Features that generate something — imports, Test me, the Tutor — need a connection and depend on services we do not control, so they will sometimes be slow or unavailable. We do not promise any particular level of availability. Everything already on your device, including studying and reviewing, keeps working offline.
Without an account your Kards live only on your device, so looking after that device is looking after your library. With an account and sync, a copy of your study data is held by our service and can be fetched to another device — but the originals you imported are not, and the export in Settings is still the one copy that is entirely yours. The app can export everything you have made at any time, and we would encourage you to use it.
